Here is an opportunity for an overview on the main gambling tax and regulatory issues in the hottest European countries at our DLA Piper seminar. The Gambling regulatory and tax regimes are in a constant state of change, with different jurisdictions entering the world of regulation at different times, adopting different rules. It all paints a complex picture, whilst Treasuries around the EU are under pressure to raise revenue, protect local land-based casinos and bookmakers and not fall foul of EU law. Quite literally, a perfect storm for tax and regulation. With the increased costs and taxes, many predict that collaboration and consolidation may be the best way for some businesses to maintain competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, and in anticipation of the ICE Gambling Conference at the Excel in London, the DLA Piper EU Gambling Team will be holding a Gambling Tax and Regulation Forum with time for networking.
Accordingly, we invite you to join us in the afternoon on Monday 1 February. In a closed and confidential forum, experienced tax and regulatory lawyers from selected European countries (Italy, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Netherlands, Spain and UK) will provide valuable perspectives, explore essential legal and regulatory issues and provide insight into the key tax and regulatory issues facing the market.
We are delighted that we will also be joined by Phill Brear, the Gambling Commissioner of Gibraltar, and Francesco Rodano, Head of Remote Games at the Italian Gaming Authority, who will provide the Regulators’ perspective.
