The adoption of the EU guidelines on the privacy portability right, the data protection officer (DPO) and the one stop shop rule are a major step ahead.
There is no doubt that the principles contained in the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are very broad and open to different interpretations. In this sense the adoption by the Article 29 Working Party, that is an EU body made of all the European data protection authorities, of the guidelines on the privacy portability right, the DPO and the one stop shop rule shall be welcomed. New guidelines on the privacy impact assessment and the certification shall be adopted in 2017 and they will also be very relevant.
